My EOTC Week Diary

This week, from 14 March to 17 March, all of the Year 5's and some of the Year 4's got to do EOTC. That stands for education outside the classroom. EOTC. This helps us to build up confidence and to participate in lots of activities. For EOTC week this year, we went to the Orakei Marae on Monday, then on Tuesday we got to experience courses 1-4 in Tree Adventures. On Wednesday we did some orienteering at Waiatarua Reserve and finally some swimming at Mt Albert Aquatic Centre.

On the first day of our week, we traveled to the Orakei Marae where all of our Meadowbank kids did the hongi to all the children and adults at the Marae. Then we had our morning tea break. After that we split up because all the girls were to learn the poi dance. But the boys were to learn the haka. . We then learnt a song and a dance with the poi. While we were at this the boys were busy learning a haka. All the children performed the parts they learnt. The boys watched us and the girls watched the haka. Then it was time to head back to our school.
